Metrazol (Metronidazole Tablets) 250mg

Metrazol (Metronidazole Tablets) 250mg is Antimicrobial and immunomodulatory agent. Drug product of choice against Giardia app. infections in puppies. Useful when diarrhea and flatulence caused by bacterial microorganisms sensitive to the formula occur. It is also recommended in case of short bowel syndrome, anaerobic infections of the oral cavity, hepatic encephalopathy, cholangitis and inflammatory bowel disease.

Metronidazole is a synthetic nitroimidazole-derivative that was introduced into therapeutics in 1959 for the treatment of infections caused by Trichomonas vaginalis in humans. However, other advantages were found, such as its activity against anaerobic germs and many other protozoa.

250 mg: Canines and Felines

Metrazol (Metronidazole Tablets) 250mg For Giardia spp.: 25 mg/kg body weight every 12 hours for 5 to 7 days (1 tablet per 10 kg of body weight) or 50 mg/kg body weight every 24 hours for 5 days (2 tablets per 10 kg.)

Canines:

Metrazol (Metronidazole Tablets) 250mg For inflammatory bowel disease: 10 to 15 mg/kg body weight every 12 hours for 5 to 7 days (1 tablet per 16.6 - 25 kg of body weight.)

Metrazol (Metronidazole Tablets) 250mg For suppurative cholangitis: 25 to 30 mg/kg every 12 hours for 4 to 6 weeks (1 tablet for every 8.3 - 10 kg of body weight.)

Metrazol (Metronidazole Tablets) 250mg For hepatic encephalopathy: 20 mg/kg every 8 hours for 4 - 6 weeks (1 tablet per 12.5 kg of body weight.)

500 mg: Canines & Felines

Metrazol (Metronidazole Tablets) 250mg For Giardia spp: 25 mg/kg body weight every 12 hours for 5 to 7 days (1/2 tablet per 10 kg of body weight) or 50 mg/kg body weight every 24 hours for 5 days (1 tablet per 10 kg.)

Metrazol (Metronidazole Tablets) 250mg For inflammatory bowel disease: 10 - 15 mg/kg body weight every 12 hours for 5 to 7 days (1 tablet for every 33.3 - 50 kg of body weight.) For suppurative cholangitis: 25 to 30 mg/kg every 12 hours for 4 to 6 weeks (1 tablet for every 16.6 - 20 kg of body weight.)

Metrazol (Metronidazole Tablets) 250mg For hepatic encephalopathy: 20 mg/kg every 8 hours for 4 - 6 weeks (1 tablet per 25 kg of body weight).
